Insurance is included in the cost of hiring the vehicle. With our standard insurance, the excess, which is what you could be liable for, is £1000. For an additional payment (£15 for one day), you can purchase Collision Damage Waiver, which will reduce your liability for any damage down to £250. Although it is unlikely that you will be involved in a breakdown or an accident, you have the piece of mind that you are provided with a 24 Hour Helpline to fully assist you.
You are allowed 250 free miles per day. For longer hirers, there are additional restrictions. If you exceed your mileage allowance, you will be charged 12 Pence per mile (including VAT).

- Theft of property from within the vehicle
- The driver of the vehicle’s personal injury or loss of life
- The vehicle being used for ‘Hire and Reward’

Collision Damage Waiver is primarily to reduce your liability should you become involved in a road traffic accident.
It does not cover:
- The costs associated with putting the wrong type of fuel in the vehicle
- Loss of keys
- Damage to the interior of the vehicle
- Costs of recovery as a result of a road traffic accident when no third party is involved
- Damage caused as a result of failure to pay due care and attention, for example hitting low level bridges or trees

What documentation do I need to bring with me when hiring a vehicle?
You need to provide your Driving licence and 2 forms of ID, one confirming address and dated within the last 3 months (for example a bank statement or Utility Bill). Your Drivers Licence will be checked against the DVLA database prior to hire. You should either download and email your own “Check Code” from the DVLA website or provide us with your National Insurance number so that we may check your license on your behalf.
All Hires must be paid on a debit or credit card in the driver’s name.
